Gerard Ross, Senior Communications Manager.
Gerard Ross works with the Communications department to develop internal and external communications services and products for the Internet Society.
Gerard is an experienced technical communicator, who brings to ISOC a long history of involvement with the Internet community. From 1998-2007, Gerard worked for the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC), first as a technical writer, subsequently becoming the Documentation Manager and then Communications Area Manager. In these roles, he worked extensively with the Asia Pacific Internet community, developing web-based materials, policy documentation, technical articles, and other publications. He also represented APNIC at regional meetings of all the Regional Internet Registries and provided communication support for the Number Resource Organization and the Address Supporting Organization (one of the Supporting Organizations of ICANN).
Before becoming involved with the Internet, Gerard worked in arts administration and the legal profession. He also worked in the education sector, teaching professional writing and editing at the Queensland University of Technology, in Brisbane, Australia. Gerard holds Bachelor degrees in Law and Arts from the University of Queensland and a Graduate Diploma in Communication from the Queensland University of Technology, Australia. |
